Our Founder: From PR Powerhouse to Hype Builder
Robert Michael Veliz (Rob), the founder of Hype/Volume Media, has spent over 25 years leading digital strategy, brand marketing, and PR for some of the biggest names in the industry.
As the former Head of Digital Practice at Porter Novelli’s New York office, Rob worked with Fortune 500 brands to craft high-profile media campaigns, influencer activations, and digital strategies that shaped public perception. His career spans roles at Microsoft, Amazon, Sephora, and Abercrombie & Fitch, where he led SEO, digital experience, and content strategy efforts on a global scale.
But corporate wasn’t where his passion was.
With deep roots in media, hospitality, and entertainment, Robert has always been drawn to the people and places that create culture—the chefs, bar owners, musicians, and event organizers shaping the way we experience food, nightlife, and live entertainment.
