Who are we?
We hype things up that we think are awesome in the world. We turn up the volume on the good and drown out the noise of the bad.
We try our best to promote things that bring positivity to our lives and our communities.
We might talk about an awesome person. An awesome restaurant or bar. An awesome burger we ate. An awesome experience. An awesome city. An awesome feeling we got from a show or a movie. Whatever inspires us, we want you to know about it, too. And if you have something awesome to share, we’d love for you to share it with us, so we can share it, too (we’ll credit you as the source).
WE DON'T JUST COVER CULTURE. WE HELP BUILD IT, TOGETHER.
Even if we can’t all experience what was awesome, through Hype/Volume we can read about it, hear about it – and maybe get inspired by it.
Hype/Volume is about bringing more awesomeness to your life.
WE CREATE THE HYPE. WE TURN UP THE VOLUME.
We’re not here to talk about what isn’t awesome. There are plenty of other places to go for that.
So what is awesome?
Sometimes awesome is complicated. Some things that someone might find awesome are really not awesome for someone else. We try to focus on things that might be more universally awesome. But that can be really difficult to do. (What is “universally awesome”?) So we have tried to create some guidelines to help us define what is awesome. It keeps our focus on things less controversial, and helps us bring more awesomeness to you.

Discovery.

Art and experiences that move us.
We’ll do our best to get it right. We know that in promoting things that are awesome – even in our attempt to find universally awesome things – some of those things will not be awesome to some people. We’ll correct our wrongs. And we will alway try to get better.
Who are we?
We’re writers, artists, lovers, poets, musicians, fighters. We’re people who care about doing better in the world. About being better. In a world where trillionaires and billionaires are saying empathy is a failure and faith in humanity is a mistake…we’re the other side.
Hype/Volume is a rebellion against culture killers, against fascism, against hatred – against things not awesome. Hype/Volume is is a love letter to the makers of awesome things in this world.
